Figure 1: The functions of GSK3β in pancreatic cancer. Active GSK3β has both tumor promoting and tumor inhibiting activities shown in green and red, respectively. GSK3β positively regulates NF-κB activity, resulting in inhibition of apoptosis and survival. On the other hand, GSK3β directly targets multiple proteins with oncogenic properties (RAS, β-catenin, Cyclin D, and Snail) for ubiquitin-mediated degradation. Data presented in this review also suggest a putative role for GSK3β in negatively regulating c-MET.
