Lateral projections of the right ventricular angiogram yield information not only about the pulmonary valve annulus dimensions (2a, double-arrow), but also about the right ventricular outflow tract geometry and help to guide passage of wires and catheters across the very restrictive effective pulmonary valve orifice (3b, arrows).
