Tyshak-mini balloons have a smaller range of available sizes, but are lower profile and require smaller vascular access sheaths (5b). The Nucleus balloon has theoretical design advantages that may allow for better stabilization of the balloon within the valve annulus, but no reports of its use in pulmonary valvuloplasty exist (5c).
