Figure 2: PAH tolerance in Phanerochaete chrysosporium; 2A. Phenanthrene; 2B.Pyrene; 2C.Benzo(a)pyrene. Fungal cultures were grown at 37°C in an environmental shaker (180 rpm) for 72 hours. Test PAH compound was added at the 24 hour time-point using one of the following test concentrations: 0, 10, and 25 ppm PAH. Biomass were harvested by vacuum filtration and dried to a constant weight at 80°C. Values plotted represent average of triplicates ± standard deviation.
