The cell, with an inner volume of 110 μl, was filled with TGK buffer and a thermocouple was used to measure the temperature of the copper which was stabilized at 37.00° C using a PID-controller (P= 1, I= 8, D= 0.1). The impedance was monitored through the copper to the counter electrode in the liquid at 1.7 mm of the sensor surface. This configuration prevented sedimentation of molecules onto the sensor surface, thereby reducing non-specific binding.
