Figure 5: A cell-based fusion assay was used to mimic the gp120-CD4 mediated fusion of the viral and host cell membranes. HL2/3 and TZM-bl-CD4-LTR-Luc cells were incubated with a two-fold serial dilution of peptide, REFHbβP and a known antiretroviral compound, trimeris. Maximum inhibition was observed with 60.61 μM of REFHbβP. The assay was performed in triplicate; the data points represent the mean ± S.D of six individual observations obtained from three separate experiments performed on different days.
