With a human breath test using a stable isotope, gastric emptying rates were measured after ingestion of a high protein liquid diet (a mixture of 50 % casein calcium and 50 % dextrin) and a high carbohydrate liquid diet (100% dextrin), with or without 0.5% monosodium glutamate.
