Figure 4: Immunization of Leptospira OMVs significantly reduced bacterial loads in vital organs. After bacterial challenge, liver, kidney and urinary bladder samples were collected from moribund hamsters and hamsters that survived the infection through day 21 post challenge. Number of Leptospira organisms was determined by quantitative real time PCR targeting the conserved region of lig gene (ligCon) and reported as number of leptospires/mg tissue.
