Drug Addiction Impact Factor

Dependence on illegal medication is called as addiction. Recreational drugs and a few prescribed drugs have the ability to caused addiction. Only a very small fraction of the population who have consumed it are able to ressist addiction, while the others suffer adversely at home, work, school, relationship etc. Drugs which have the ability to cause addiction alter the dopamine levels in brain and other neurotramitters giving a positive euphoric feeling. Drug addicts create a false and illusionary world of happiness around them and will not be able to tolerate if the drug consumption is suspended. Thus, they suffer from withdrawal symptoms often craving for the drug. The impact factor of journal provides quantitative assessment tool for grading, evaluating, sorting and comparing journals of similar kind. It reflects the average number of citations to recent articles published in science and social science journals in a particular year or period, and is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field. It is first devised by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information. The impact factor of a journal is evaluated by dividing the number of current year citations to the source items published in that journal during the previous two years.
