Animal Pathogens

"A pathogen can be explained in the broadest sense is anything that can produce disease. The disease caused by microorganisms such as a virus, bacterium, prion, fungus or protozoan that causes disease in its host. If the host is animal, it is described as animal pathogens some of the diseases that are caused by viral pathogens include smallpox, influenza, mumps, measles, chickenpox, ebola and rubella. An animal disease research facility has been prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive for breaching the Specified Animal Pathogens Order (SAPO) 2008, the first time the legislation has been used. The Specified Animal Pathogens Order 2008 (as amended) prohibits any person from having in their possession any Specified Animal Pathogen listed in the Schedule to the Order (for example, avian flu or rabies) or any carrier in which he/she knows such a pathogen is present, and from introducing into any animal any pathogen listed in the Schedule, except under the authority of a license. Foot-and-mouth disease (""FMD"") is a ‘Specified Animal Pathogen’ for the purposes of this Order. The Impact Factor, often abbreviated IF, is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in science and social science journals. IF is calculated by dividing the number of citations in the Journal Citation Reports year by the total number of articles published in the two previous years. High impact factor for a particular journal implies good number of citations and quality of work. Because of the open access journals, impact factors are improving. Open access journal articles are essentially peer-reviewed and available for access through the directory of Open Access journals. Each open access journal delivers the latest updates in the respected research area in various formats so that subscribers can access the same through various options. With the growing number of scientific enthusiasts and readers by a large margin, the efficacy of open access publishing has witnessed an assertive impact "
