Esterification of glycerol with three FAs produces TAG. This anabolic cytoplasmic pathway happens mostly in the liver and AT. Liver TAGs are transferred to adipose tissue using VLDL and the TAGs of AT is reserved in the adipocytes- LDs to be used at the time of starvation.
