Figure 4c: Growth of bacterial inoculated and Uninoculated mung beans in terms of mean shoot length in the presence and absence of Cr(VI) inoculated with bacterial consortium of Staphylococcus xylosus + Staphylococcus gallinarum. The Uninoculated control (plain) free of Cr, shows maximal growth, with those contaminated with Cr (dash & dash with single dot) showing minimal. What is clear is that, the seedlings fare worse at 100 μg ml-1 Cr(VI) than at 50 μg ml-1, with growth at 50 μg ml-1 slightly better than at 100 μg ml-1. In each graph, test plates contaminated with Cr(VI), but also inoculated with EM (dotted & dash with double dot) showed significantly higher growth than in the absence of EM. |
