Synthesized peptides of all domains in histone-2A in which an arginine could be
enzymatically changed into a citrulline. Peptides were designed in such a way,
that the citrulline residue (X) was positioned approximately in the middle of the
peptide, with 5 and 6 amino acids to its left and right, respectively. Since the first
possible citrulline in histone-2A is positioned at the +3 position from the N-terminus
of the protein, three neutrally charged alanine residues were added, to position this
citrulline in a way comparable to its peers. |
