(b) Cis molecular addition of parahydrogen to diethyl 1-13C-fumaric acid-d2 to produce diethyl 1-13C-succinic acid-d2. Radio frequency pulses are applied to transfer the spin order inside a 1.8 mT electromagnet followed by ejection of hyperpolarized 1-13C-succinic acid-d2. The entire process is automated in the polarizer as described in ref. [17,21].
