The adsorbent (1.0 mL) was placed into a 2.5-mL column, and 3.0 mL of healthy human plasma was run through the column at a flow velocity of 0.3 mL/min for 10 min, and all of the plasma that was eluted from the column was collected. Protein adsorption rate (%) was calculated as (Cin–Cout)/Cin×100, where Cin is the concentration of the solute before adsorption and Cout is the concentration of the solute after adsorption. The mean ± SD values for the adsorption rates in samples from 3 healthy volunteers are given.
