to CdCl2. The trabecular structure of the liver is blurred. The hepatocyte
cytoplasm is light, foamy and filled with vacuoles (V); cell sizes are enlarged,
nuclear chromatin is more condensed (Cd). Necrosis of single hepatocytes
and the nuclei are contracted, pycnotic with condensed chromatin (D arrow),
cytoplasm is strongly acidophilic. Accumulation of mononuclear cells in the
vicinity of sinusoids (S). The sinusoid walls show numerous Kupffer cells (Kc).
