Figure 5: Cytotoxic effect of the proteinoid particles on colon adenocarcinoma LS174T cells measured by the LDH assay. Cells (3×105) were incubated with the proteinoid particles dispersed in PBS (1.25 mg/mL and 2.5 mg/mL) according to the experimental section. Cells were incubated with Triton-x-100 1% as positive control (100% toxicity). In addition, cells were incubated with Triton-x-100 1% and each one of the proteinoids to revoke any interaction. Untreated cells (negativ e control) were similarly incubated. Each bar represents mean ± standard deviations of 4 separate samples.
