Figure 5: Exponential growth rate (a) and total biodegradation (b) of Rhodococcus sp. strain MB-P1 in MSM supplemented with 2-hexanone metabolic products such as; butyl acetate; butyl alcohol; and acetate each with 15 mM concentration. Total biodegradation (%) was determined at 0, 24, 48 and 100 h of incubation and expressed as degradation percentage of the initial concentration of each substrates added. Similarly, the growth properties were determined and expressed in terms of total cell protein (mg ml-1). Values are presented as arithmetic mean of data obtained from experiments carried out in triplicate; error bars represent standard deviation.
