Mean
Figure 4: Mean colony-forming units per gram of dry soil for (A) Fusarium spp. (F. verticillioides, F. proliferatum, and F. solani), and (B) other fungi (species of Aspergillus, Candida, Chrysosporium, Cladosporium, Colletotrichum, Macrophomina, Trichoderma, Cryptococcus, Paecilomyces, Penicillium, Pythium, and Rhizoctonia) isolated from the soil samples collected in 2008 and 2009 from micro-plots that had a mixture of different crop residues and F. virguliforme (CK=coarse-ground corn kernel, CR=corn roots, CS=corn stalk, SK=coarse-ground soybean kernel, SS=soybean stalk, SR=soybean roots, FV=Fusarium virguliforme). Results are an average across 10- and 20-fold dilutions in each year and each dilution with 15 plates. Data was analyzed separately for each year. Means with the same letter are not significantly different (P<0.05).
