The parietal peritoneum of the circumscribed areas was then removed with a forceps (b) and ischaemic buttons were created using two single sutures (c + d). Since the suture material induces adhesion formation, four additional single sutures were used to imitate the fixation of a barrier material on the control abdominal sidewalls (e). At the barrier-treated ventral walls, the damaged areas were covered by SupraSeal® which was fixed by four single sutures (f).
