Figure 2: Analysis of [51Cr] release assay in mice immunized with various forms of vaccine in response to whole cell lysate of macrophages infected with live C. neoformans. The [51Cr]-labeled macrophages/P815 cells (5 × 103/well) were used as target cells. The antigen primed target cells were incubated with CD8+ T cells (effector cells isolated from the spleen of 8 to 10 mice were pooled, and used for assay) at an effector to target (E/T) ratios of 25:1. [51Cr] release was determined at different effector: target ratio. Cells primed with PBS alone and killed yeast cells were used as control.
