Figure 7: Schematic Representation of the Molecular Mechanisms of Altholactone-induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in Human Prostate Cancer DU145 cells. DU145 cells were treated with altholactone in a dose-dependent manner for 24h. Altholactone leads to inhibits cell proliferation and induced apoptosis. Apoptosis is evident through increased cell permeability. NAC inhibits apoptosis-induced by altholactone. Analysis of apoptosis-related proteins in DU145 cells revealed that the pro-apoptotic mechanism of altholactone may be associated with down-regulation of anti-apoptosis related protein Bcl-2 and up-regulation of Bax expression. |
