Lateral hip pain

Pinpoint tenderness over the greater trochanter area

Distinct tenderness about the greater trochanter

Pain at the extreme of rotation, abduction, or adduction

Pain on hip abduction against resistance

Tender over gluteus medius muscle

Positive Patrick-Fabere’s test

Pseudoradiculopathy (pain radiating down the lateral aspect of the thigh)
