Aortic valve disease is usually a condition in which the valve between the main pumping chambers of heart (left ventricle) and the main artery to body (aorta) shows abnormalities in their work. It is the most common valvular heart disease of the elderly and increases with age. The prevalence is approximately 0.4% at age 75 years and 7.1% at 85-95 years.
