    Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic in the Australia. It affects more than 25 percent of children, making it the most common chronic disease of childhood. This number has more than tripled since 1981. In Australia, obesity is second only to smoking as the largest preventable cause of death. 18% of the population is obese (having a Body Mass Index of over 30) and 63% overweight (with a BMI of higher than 24.9). 10% more obese are adults from 1995. 1% children are obese and 15% more people living from outer region are facing the same problem of obesity.
