Biography

 Aaron M. Fischman, MD, is Assistant Professor of Radiology and Surgery in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College, he completed medical school at the State University of NY (SUNY) Upstate Medical Center in 2004. After finishing residency in Diagnostic Radiology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where he also served as Chief Resident, he then went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.   He subsequently joined the division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology in 2010 and currently serves as the Program Director for the fellowship training program for the entire Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Fischman has a broad and active interest in minimally invasive treatments for venous disease including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), superficial varicose veins and venous portal venous hypertension including therapies such as Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) and Balloon Occlusion Retrograde Transvenous Obliteration of Gastric Varices (BRTO).

He also focuses on minimally invasive treatments for primary and metastastic liver and kidney cancer including Yttrium-90 radioembolization, chemoembolization and thermal ablative therapies including state of the art microwave and cryoablation technologies.
