Abdel E Ghaly is currently working in Process Engineering Department, Dalhousie University, Canada. he did his BSc- Alexandria University, MSc- Alexandria University,PhD - McGill University. His research aims at solving agricultural, industrial and environmental problems through the conversion of waste materials into value products through the application of biorefinery concept in order to create new technologies, valuable products and new employment opportunities that will lead to a sustainable development. My research projects cover the areas of Bioprocess Engineering and Fermentation Technology (including microbial kinetics, production of high value molecules such as nutriceuticals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, animal feed, fish feed, organic fertilizer and industrial chemicals such as organic acids, deicing agents, biodegradable plastics as well as development of fermentation technology), Environmental Engineering (including waste charaterization, waste management and utiliztion, bioremediation/phythoremediation of contaminated air, water and soil, environmental assessment and development of environmental technology) and Energy (including characterizaiton of biomass, size reduction, production of syngas, biogas, bioethanol and biodiesel, modeling of fluidlized bed gasification, agglomeration studies and development of biomass and bioenergy technology).
