Biography
Starting her professional work life as an Orthoptist working in academic, private and public sectors, Alice advanced her research career through the attainment of a PhD. Since graduating in 2006, Alice has developed expertise in the delivery of aged care to older people living with multiple and complex needs through the research she has undertaken at Wintringham. Her work examines psychosocial models of care designed to support older people living with high and complex needs particularly those associated with multiple pathologies including alcohol addiction. Alice delivers training and master class workshops to service providers across Australia and New Zealand on improving care practices in supporting older adults living with behaviours of concern. She provides consultation and program evaluation with particular focus on indentifying the support needs of care staff and consumer populations. In 2009, Alice was awarded an honorary research fellowship at NARI (The National Ageing Research Institute).
