Biography

He graduated from in Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1960. Newly formed, he integrated the first medical team of the Hospital District of Brasilia in 1960, introducing the Trauma and Orthopedics Unit. In 1961, then took over the direction Rehabilitation Center Sarah Kubitschek. Held Postgraduate in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Oxford University - England in 1963/1964 and PhD in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1966. In 1975, he created the "Plan for development of a regional program of orthopedics and rehabilitation" that originated the National Institute of Medicine of the Locomotor System - SARAH. Also coordinated the Health Committee of pre-Contituinte Commission Affonso Arinos Assembly.
