Andrea Patriarca Department of Hematology Spirito Santo” Hospital Italy

Biography
I have been joining the existing team of 2 haematologists at “Diana Princess of Wales” Hospital in Grimsby (UK) last August. The haematology ward is a part of Internal Medicine Unit and consists of an outpatient clinic treating approximately 400 patients annually and bed section with 12 beds. The hematology unit is not currently allowed to treat Acute Myeloid Leukemias and high IPSS MDS in young, which are treated in the University Hospital in Novara and Turin. As Consultant on Myeloprolipherative Neoplasms, Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Acute Myeloid Leukemias, I have the responsibility of the diagnostic process and of the therapeutic planning of all patients. Moreover due to the high number of benign hematological diseases (i.e. autoiimne anemias, ITP) I’m also frequently involved in the management of these patients.
