Dr. Ayman Karkar (MBBS, MSc, PhD, FRCP, FASN) has received his PhD in Renal Medicine from the London University, United Kingdom during the period of 1993-1994. Currently, he is working as a consultant physician and nephrologist in Kanoo Kidney Center, Dammam Medical Complex. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Director of Kanoo Kidney Center, Supervisor of Renal Units and Renal Services, and Chairman of Nephrology Club. His research has included Modulation of Glomerular Injury in Glomerulonephritis, Renal Inflammation, Hepatitis C in Dialysis Units, Infection Control in Dialysis Units, Vascular Access, Online Hemodiafiltration and Kidney Transplantation. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as ICI - PHARMACEUTICALS (UK), Sybil McMichael Bursary (London, UK). He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like “Clinical Medicine Insights: Trauma and Intensive Medicine”, “Journal of Nursing Education and Practice”, “Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation (SJKDT)”, “Journal of Transplantation Technologies & Research”, “African Journal of Microbiology Research”, and International Scholarly Research Network (ISRN) Inflammation Journal & expert Reviewers for journals like Seminars in Dialysis, Hemodialysis International, International Journal Nephrology, IRJM, African Journal of Microbiology, Ann Saudi Medicine, SJKDT, Journal of Epidemiology, Journal of Nursing Education and Practice, Journal of Medicine & Medical Sciences.
