His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study.  His research interests as a Professor reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals. Frieden is best known for his extensive work on Fisher information as a grounding principle for deriving and elaborating physical theory. (Examples are the Schrödinger wave equation of quantum mechanics, and the Maxwell–Boltzmann distribution of statistical mechanics.) Such theories take the form of differential equations or probability distribution functions. He has worked in various research insitutes, NASA Second-generation Telescope Product-integrity Team, 2002–date; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2000–date; Northrop-Grumman, 1997; VayTek, Inc., 1993; Martin-Marietta, 1991; Analytics, 1988–1990; DuPont, 1986; Mission Research, 1986; Jet Propulsion Lab, 1985–1988; Sandia National Labs, 1985–1986; Aberdeen Proving Ground, 1983–1985 and 1987–1989; Aerospace Corporation, 1983-1986.
