Biography

Balakrishnan D is awarded PhD in Otolaryngology from Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, in the year 2010. He holds a Master Degree in Otolaryngology from University of Madras in the year 1981, followed by a Bachelor’s Degreein  Medicine & Surgery from University of Madras in the year 1978. He has extended his valuable service as a Professor in Medical teacher (UG and PG), Examiner and Board of Studies member in the field of Otolaryngology and in Audiology, 32 years and has been a recipient of many award and grants. Currently, he is working as an Professor of Department of Medical Research, SRM University and he published many articles and also a Principal Investigator in a research project ‘The profile of Laryngeal cancer in Southern India and study on the suitability of Primary insertion of tracheo oesophageal prostheses in Laryngectomees’ done in 2002, at the Institute of Oto Rhino Laryngolgy, Madras Medical College, funded by Glaxo Dr.P.V. Cherian Research endowment through The Tamilnadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University.
