Charles J Malemud

Biography

Professor Charles J. Malemud received the PhD in Biology, with a specialization in experimental pathology, from the George Washington University where he conducted his PhD dissertation research at the NIH (1968-1973). Currently, he is working as Professor of Medicine and Anatomy at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio USA. He successfully completed his Administrative responsibilites as Coordinator of the CWRU Core Academic (Basic Scence Curriculum) Program from 1994-2000 where he was also a member of the Academic Cabinet. Based on his research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors such as the Shannon Award from NIH. In 2014, he was named Outstanding Research Mentor in the Division of Rheumatic Diseases, He is currently serving as an editorial board member of several reputed journals such as Rheumatology: Current Research and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical and Cellular Immunology. Dr. Malemud is an expert reviewer for NIAMS, the NCI and the National Arthritis Foundation. He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and abstracts.
