He is awarded PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from University of Missouri, Columbia in the 1991. He holds a Master Degree (MSc) in Food Science from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1986. He assists the Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics (REE)/Chief Scientist in supervising program planning and execution by REE Staff to: strengthen science and science leadership, improve national coordination, and enhance outreach and awareness. Currently, he is working as an Associate Director for USDA. His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study. His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals. He is the Editorial Board Member of Journal of Food Processing and Technology and Journal of Food Processing and Preservation Research.
