Biography

Christian Benden is a Pediatric Pulmonologist and Lung Transplant Physician, currently employed as a Consultant Pulmonologist and Transplant Physician at University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, and a Reader in Pulmonology and Transplant Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. 
Christian Benden completed his pediatric training in Hannover (Germany) and London (United Kingdom). He trained in Pediatric Pulmonology and received specialist training in lung transplantation in London and Zurich. 
Christian Benden is a well-recognized Pediatric Lung Transplant Physician. He is the former Chair of the Scientific Council on Pediatric Transplantation of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and former Secretary-Treasurer of the International Pediatric Lung Transplant Collaborative (IPLTC). Recently, he has been appointed as Associate Medical Director of Pediatric Lung Transplantation of the ISHLT Registry.
Christian Benden is Associate Editor of Pediatric Transplantation and the ISHLT Links Newsletter.
Christian Benden’s research interests include clinical aspects of lung transplantation, particularly in children, experimental aspects of chronic lung graft dysfunction, and cystic fibrosis lung disease.
