Darren J Wilkinson

Biography

Darren J Wilkinson is a Professor of Stochastic Modelling in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at Newcastle University and co-Director of our ESPRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data. I am also a member of CISBAN and CSBB. I recently held a BBSRC Research Development Fellowship, to study noise, stochasticity and heterogeneity in model biological systems.

Research Interest

Bayesian analysis, scalable Bayesian computation, and Bayesian software development; Dynamic and graphical models, and Markov processes; Statistical bioinformatics and stochastic models in computational systems biology; Cloud computing and e-Science technology for computational statistics and big data; Efficient Bayesian algorithms and Bayes linear methods.
