Biography
Doug Landsittel is the Director of the Biomarkers and Prediction Modeling Section, Director of Biostatistics for the Starzl Transplant Institute, and Track Director of Comparative Effectiveness Research for the Institute for Clinical Research Education. He is also a faculty member of the Comparative Effectiveness Research Center and the Center for Research on Health Care. Dr. Landsittel is currently the Program Director (2014-2019) of the Enhancing National Capacity in PCOR through Training Program, which is an AHRQ funded R25 grant focused on building capacity and expertise at Minority Serving Institutions in patient-centered comparative effectiveness research. He is also the PI of a PCORI contract entitled 'Modeling strategies for observational CER: what works best when?', which seeks to develop a decision tool for identifying optimal causal inference approaches for a given scenario. Doug also directs (with Dr. Bae in Radiology) the Data Coordinating and Imaging Analysis Center of the Consortium for Radiological Imaging Studies in Polycystic Kidney Disease (CRISP). CRISP is a 15-year ongoing observational study that seeks to characterize the relationship between kidney volume and renal decline. He has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers, is on the editorial board for Journal of Clinical Oncology, and serves as a member of the NIH study section on Kidney, Nutrition, Obesity and Diabetes (KNOD), as well as a frequent ad hoc reviewer for CDC/NIOSH, PCORI, and NCI.
