Fiammetta Alagna

Biography

Dr Fiammetta Alagna has received her PhD in the field of plant genetics at the University of Basilicata, Italy in December 2010. She conducted her research activity at CNR-Institute of Plant Genetics (IGV) in Portici and Perugia, Italy (2004-2007), Max Plank Institute of Chemical Ecology, Dept. Molecular Ecology, Jena, Germany (2008-2009), University of Naples “Federico II”, Dept. of Plant, Soil, Environmental Sciences and Animal Production, Portici (NA) Italy (2009). She worked as Post Doc at CNR – IGV in Perugia, Italy (2010-2012) and at John Innes Centre in Norwich, UK (2013-2014). Currently, she is currently working as researcher at CNR – Institute of Biosciences and Bio-resources (IBBR) of Perugia, Italy. She is serving as expert Reviewer several reputed journals like BMC Genomics, BMC Plant Biology and DNA Research. Her research has included the study of plant defence responses to insect pests, the characterization of genes involved in the biosynthesis of plant secondary metabolites, the study of the olive fruit transcriptome.
