Glen E Fryxell is one of the Distinguished Inventors of Battelle, USA. Formerly he warked as a Senior Chemist, Nanomaterials Safety Advisory Committee , Chief Scientist and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry. He is an organic chemist by training and has a significant experience in the chemical modification of surfaces for chemically selective binding of specific target compounds. His research has focused on the integration of chemically selective ligands into nanoporous architectures to selectively bind a variety of heavy metals, radionuclides, and greenhouse gases. His work has resulted in 21 US Patents, 120+ peer-reviewed journal articles, 17 book chapters, and 1 book ("Environmental Applications of Nanomaterials"). His work has been cited in the technical literature 7600+ times and his Hirsch Index (aka "h factor") is currently 46.
Glen E Fryxell research interests include Design and synthesis of functional nanoporous materials, chemical separations, chemical modification of silica, carbon and other surfaces, coatings chemistries
