Godofreda (Jody) R. Vergeire-Dalmacion graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM), College of Medicine (UPCM) and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UP-Philippine General Hospital. She obtained her Master of Medical Science (Pharmacoepidemiology ) from the University of Newcastle, NSW Australia and Master of Health Profession Education from the UPM- National Teacher’s Training Center. Postgraduate training included Reproductive Immunology, Pharmacoeconomics for Drug Evaluation and a Diploma Course on Research and Development of Products for Public Health Needs from the Institute of Tropical Disease ,Nagasaki University, Japan. She is currently a Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the UPCM with cross appointment to the Department of Clinical Epidemiology. She is the present Chair of the UP Manila-National Institutes of Health Technical Review Board (TRB) and a member of the Department of Science and Technology -PCHRD Drug Discovery Advisory Committee. Her research interests for which she has published papers on are on Maternal and Reproductive Health, Drug Safety and Epidemiology, Bioavailability and Bioequivalence studies, Health Financing, Health Policy, HIV, Medical Education, Air pollution and Functional Food. To date, she is the principal investigators of three ongoing researchers, The Association of Pharmacogenomics with treatment response to anti-asthma drugs among OPD patients with Bronchial Asthma, The validation and development of a dissolution apparatus and Correlation of drug prices with drug quality. She was a co-investigator of a recently concluded study on the Institutionalization of Patient Engagement in the Department of Health commissioned by Medicine Transparency Alliance and WHO. She was co -investigator on studies which saw publication this year. These are namely, Donor’s Questionnaire form and its association with HIV risk status and Indoor air pollution in a tertiary hospital. To date, two other publications on the point prevalence of Hospital Acquired Infection and Ensuring patient safety with the use of SMS-based Adverse drug reaction reporting have been accepted and awaiting publication. She is also the lead person for the Philippines for a research project on the Association of Gut Microbiome with early neonatal infections submitted to the UK Newton Funding Program.
