Dr. Ozbay’s is a Research Associate Professor in Delaware State University,did her Ph.D on Fisheries and Aquaculture (Concentration: WaterQuality & Aquaculture) Her research and outreach programs are established to help preserve natural resources and health of Delaware’s Bays and monitor predicted changes that could be helpful to the state agencies in decision making and management. Food Safety Laboratory she established by the funding provided by USDA-FSIS Program has enabled Dr. Ozbay to conduct collaborative projects with the USDA ARS Laboratories and other research institutions in catfish inspection from retail establishments and allow faculty and students to involve comprehensive seafood quality monitoring and hands-on training efforts, this program is expected to continue and enhance program capacity in the college. GIS Laboratory will be established along with the workshops and classes regarding integration of GIS & Remote Sensing for the gobal climate change issues.
Research focus is on marine aquaculture, habitat restoration and water quality issues, specifi-cally research in the associations between algae, shellfish, and water quality, water quality driv- en toxicity in harmful algae, shellfish-algae dynamics, nutrient and water quality management, aquatic ecology and health, seafood safety, and drinking water quality.
