Hans Wienk

 Hans Wienk is currently working as a project manager of the EU-funded structural biology initiative iNEXT at Bijvoet Center for Biomolecular Research, NMR Spectroscopy, Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He monitors the progress of the project, prepare reports, organize periodical meetings, and deliver guidelines, procedures and communication material. He is heavily involved in financial administration and liaising with the European Commission, Scientific Advisory Board and proposal Review Panel. He has numerous research papers and articles in reputed journals and has various other achievements in the related studies and has also extended valuable service towards the scientific community with extensive research work. As facility manager He supervises the performance of the solution state NMR spectrometers in our group, ranging from 500-950 MHz. For years already, our NMR machines form a national facility sponsored by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (SONNMRLSF, uNMR-NL), as well as a European facility through different EU-funded projects (currently iNEXT). For SONNMRLSF and EU-funded projects he plans measurement time, he receives guests from all over the world, including academics and companies, and do project administration and reporting. A significant part of this function is instructing researchers (PhDs, postdocs, etc) in recording and analysis of NMR data.

Most of the research he was involved in relates to the application of solution state NMR techniques to diverse, mainly biologically relevant systems. Here, focus lies on the determination of structure, function and dynamics of proteins.
