Hiroyuki Yasui

Professor Hiroyuki Yasui obtained his B.S. degree in 1989, Master's degree in 1991 and a PhD degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1995 from Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University (Japan). He started his career as a research associate (1995-1996) in the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Delivery System of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University (KPU), and he was appointed a research associate (1997-2003) and an associate professor (2004-2007) in the Department of Analytical and Bioinorganic Chemistry of KPU. Since October 2007, he has been a full professor of KPU. Currently, he is the project leader for Strategic Research Foundation Grant-aided Project of KPU for Private Universities from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science, and Technology, Japan (MEXT), 2012-2016. His current research interests include the relationship between physiological disorders or diseases and biometals and free radicals, the metallokinetic and metallodynamic analyses of pharmacologically active metal complexes, and additionally development of metallopharmaceuticals for lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity and diabetes mellitus. Namely, his special attention is dedicated to pharmacology in metallomics, i.e., pharmacometallomics. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan, the Chemical Society of Japan, the Japanese Society for the Study of Xenobiotics, Society for Free Radical Research Japan, and Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science
