Dr. Hong Liu earned her PhD. degree from China pharmaceutical university in 1999. After postdoc research for two years in shanghai institute of materia medica (SIMM), she joined in SIMM as a professor. Recently, her research interest has mainly focused on the medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and computer aided drug design. She takes “the Discovery and Optimization of Lead Compounds for New Drugs” as her research principle-line to build a novel research system of “New Organic Synthetic Strategies Accelerating Drug Discovery”, and proactively design structure-diversity drug-like compound libraries for the discovery and development of innovative drugs against some serious diseases, such as infectious diseases, cancer, metabolic disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and so on. Based on the privileged structure of drug molecules, she has developed a series of innovative and highly effective synthetic technologies to build a structure-diversity drug-like compound library containing more than 200 structural scaffolds and more than 5000 molecules, and published more than 230 academic papers in peer-review journals, such as Chemical Reviews, Angewandte Chemie, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry & Biology, Organic Letters, Chemical Communications, etc, with the total impact factor of 860.7. She has applied 43 patents and obtained 13 patent certifications. Besides, she has published 9 books as chapter author.
