Dr. Liuzzi has received his PhD in cell Biology at Universidad Central de Venezuela. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Florida. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at Florida International University. He was recently awarded a research grant (R03) by NIH to investigate the role of zinc in autophagy during ethanol exposure. He is serving as an editorial member of Biological Trace Elements Research.Dr. Liuzzi has authored .23 research articles/books. He/she is a member of the American Society of Nutrition (ASN). His research has included the characterization of zinc transporters and the identification of new pathways through which zinc modulates cellular function.
