Julie Evans

MSc, SENIOR QUALITATIVE RESEARCHER Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford.

Biography
Julie Evans works in the Health Experiences Research Group (HERG) (www.herg.org.uk) on qualitative interview studies of people's experiences of illness. Since 2000 she has specialized in studying people’s experiences of cancer or of cancer screening. As well as doing her own studies she has also ‘buddied’ or supervised studies done by colleagues in HERG or at other universities. She is currently studying people’s experiences of having their kidney function or heart function checked regularly in primary care as part of wider studies being conducted in this department and elsewhere of understanding and managing long-term conditions. The kidney monitoring interviews will be used to form a new section of www.healthtalkonline.org about mild kidney impairment, and the heart disease interviews will be used to update the existing section on heart failure.
