Dr Caceres-Cortes JR has received his PhD in University of Montreal during the period of 1990-1996. Currently, he is working as Prof in the National Polytechnic Institute. His research has included the study of hematopoietic stem cells and acute forms of leukemia. His research consists in defining how hematopoietic stem cells integrate signals to maintain a differentiation program and how this code is disrupted in leukemia. He is particularly interested in the mechanisms that determine the generation and diversification of blood cells from hematopoietic stem cells. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as: 2013 National Prize of Hematology in Mexico. He is serving as an expert reviewer of several reputed journals like Cytokine and Tumour Biology. He has authored 34 research articles/books. He is a member of Mexican Association to the Study of Haematology.
