Prof Dr. Karoli Nicholas Njau was born and raised on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. Prof. Njau obtained his BSc. Hons. from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, majoring Process Engineering. He later did his Master degree in Chemical Engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) Trondheim, Norway. Prof. Njau did his PHD studies at the Technical University Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. He is currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Water and Environmental Science and Engineering at Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology. Prof. Njau is an educator, researcher, and an international consultant on environmental issues.
