He then completed his internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and residency training at the Kresge Eye Institute. The center includes an ambulatory surgical center, a Laser Refractive Center and an optical shop. Dr. Westfield is extremely active in his profession and the community. Among his many accomplishments, he served as the founding medical director of the Nevada Eye Bank; was the first to perform refractive surgery in Las Vegas (radial keratotomy); opened the first satellite eye care clinics to serve outlying rural Nevada; was the first surgeon to perform cataract surgery in a freestanding ambulatory surgery center.
